TIPS AND TRICKS
1. ROUTE
SALES
-
The HOTSHOT
is an excellent vehicle for route sales during lunch hours. A
well planned lunch route can add an additional three to five hundred dollars
or more in some cases, to each lunch day.
-
The HOTSHOT allows
each store, and more importantly stores in depressed locations, an opportunity
to reach customers in areas that would not normally be a part of the store's
market draw. Office buildings, industrial parks, schools, etc., represent
more dollars for lunch.
-
Again, HOTSHOT'S
visibility comes into play. With a lunch route, people
see the truck and might stop after work at the store to pick up dinner
or even stop the truck itself and buy. This visibility continues
to tell every customer that you deliver, and will help the night's delivery
business to deliver.
-
The revenue realized by the lunch route should more
than pay for owning the truck. Home delivery and catering applications
are virtually without the additional cost of owning the vehicle.
-
It is recommend that each location employ a delivery
manager who is responsible for the routes, catering and home delivery.
The manager should be responsible for developing the routes, hiring the
drivers and ensuring that each vehicle on the road is maintained properly
to continue to represent your company's name is the proper manner.
2.
CATERING
-
The HOTSHOT is
a great way to handle catering orders. With the HOTSHOT
you can accommodate large parties without the fear of food deterioration.
One person can deliver and set up the job at a very low cost. Again,
the HOTSHOT allows you
to go to the customer and provide a service that is difficult to do without
the truck.
-
With the trend in school food service toward outside
catering, there is a great opportunity to be a part of this trend.
School systems are temperature conscious and the HOTSHOT
eliminates any fear of not meeting the proper health code.
Even one delivery a week to the school for lunch means a lot of extra dollars
for the store.
-
Catering is the type of business that grows on itself.......
the more jobs you do the more catering jobs you get. With the HOTSHOT
the word gets out fast.
3.
HOME DELIVERY
-
Since the HOTSHOT
is self-contained and has no outside fuel sources running its systems,
the HOTSHOT costs no
more money than a small car to do home deliveries. Because you have
covered operational costs with the other jobs that the HOTSHOT
does, your home delivery operation runs at a very low overhead,
therefore increasing profitability.
-
Insurance costs in most cases will be less because
the vehicle is being insured as a catering vehicle instead of a home delivery
vehicle. The revenue realized by all the uses of this vehicle will
more than offset any insurance costs.
Again, by using the HOTSHOT as
a home delivery unit, the visibility the store receives is incredible.
For example, when a driver goes into a neighborhood with an order, chances
are that someone else in that neighborhood will see the vehicle and call
the store to order.
